Naxos best Travel Tips for Greek Island Beach vacations

  • Monday, February 28, 2011
  • Wtmm

  • Naxos is the largest island in the Cyclades group of islands in the middle of the Aegean. The island is 18 miles in length and 12 miles wide and oval.

It is also the most fertile, and this makes it one of the most beautiful. But it is unbroken golden sandy beaches, which attracts the majority of thousands of summer tourists that flock to Naxos each year nautical miles.

Leisure guests, who can pull away from the beautiful beaches, Naxos offers a wealth of Greek relics as well as plenty of Byzantine and Venetian history. The island's capital, also known as Naxos, has a Venetian Fortress, as well as an ancient Greek temple to Apollo.

This temple is usually the first things that a tourist can see when visiting Naxos by ferry because it stands proud on the tip of the island, marking the way into the busy ferry port. The temple dates back to 522 BC, but its ruinous appearance is not, because much of what has been lost to the passage of time, but rather because the enigmatic never finished building it.

Naxos town is extremely picturesque port with a maze of whitewashed streets and corridors designed with frequent invasions from Aegean pirates in mind. Its typical Cycladic architecture blends with Venetian and each rotation invite visitors to explore.

It is with such romantic charm and mystique somewhat wonder, Naxos has long been popular with authors and artists. Lord Byron visited in his youth and never forgotten experience, refers to it in his writings as dream island and often says that he would love to return some day.

Naxos has 41 villages and most are worth checking out. They exist in the fertile, green valleys, which are sandwiched between robust, dry mountains. Many of these are more than 2000 feet high and the highest, Mount Zeus 3200 feet.

Naxos island enjoys the economic rewards of being a tourist island, but it depends on them not to its prosperity. A large agriculture takes place in its rich valleys and cultivation of lemons is very successful. In addition to Naxos produces lemons, cherries, pomegranates and other fresh fruit. It also produces olives, nuts and potatoes while its grapes make some of the best of Greek wines.

Naxos is deservedly popular with discerning tourists, but in contrast to nearby Mykonos, it is not in danger of being transformed into a mass tourism resort. What has saved from doing so is its lack of an international airport. However, there is an excellent Airport offers domestic flights and some tourists, mainly Greek tourists arriving in Naxos this way sailing from Athens. The majority of tourists arriving by ferry, however, and there is no better way to start a Greek island holiday than this. You can sail all the way from Athens, but it will take at least six hours. Or you can fly to Mykonos and get on a ferry that takes only two hours. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages. We flew to Mykonos one year, only to find all ferries was reserved. Another travel tip, no matter which route you choose, is to be careful that you get the right island. The first time we visited Naxos, we heard a landing announcement and got off the ferry only to see a sign that read ' Welcome to Paros '. Fortunately, we had enough time to re-board and complete the journey to adjacent Naxos remaining minutes.

    4 Air travel tips

  • Sunday, February 27, 2011
  • Wtmm

  • People travelling either for work or to visit family. Here are some 4 air travel tips to make travel less, travail, especially over long distances.

Air Travel Tips # 1-get some sleep mode: use "The Kit" to help you sleep on the plane; a series of sleeping aids you buy in advance or Grab when I board the plane. Includes: Good ear plugs, an inflatable pillow to avoid neck band (not necessary in most business class seats with ' wings '), the eye shades, comfy slippers, lip balm, facial cream, a light Zip Jacket to regulate personal body temperature, a blanket purchase order (on ben only) and cushion to the low back, take pressure off ben or to act as insulation from cold window-wall in the aircraft.

Air Travel Tips # 2-the right seat is all. I have varied my departure from Asia on a 3 week trip by as much as 3 days to get the right seat. As all the airlines are different and have different configurations, you must go to the SeatGuru.com.

On most airlines is any seat in first class just fine. If flying business class, most transPacific airline seats in the aircraft nose window or against the bulkhead gives you more freedom to get up and out at any time, but still let you lie undisturbed, when you want to sleep. You also get worked first for all F & B and cleared up first after the meal. Some flights offer middle row bulkhead BC the same benefits.

AVOID like the plague seats next to the toilets ... real HELL with noise and odour.

If flying KLM or other carriers, where BC is on top, I would suggest the bulkhead, or quit the aisles.

For the SAA is only planned, if you must fly coach, take 52 (A) or (K) ... the window seats and only 2 you, plus you have raft storage on your page to act as a shelf.

Air Travel Tips # 3-pas, Frequent flyer hotel frequent guest and rental car numbers are printed on one sheet of paper with 4 color copies of your passport key pages on other side-by-side and place them hidden inside each bag you make. If you have even a bag left after being robbed, you can get a new passport faster. Send a copy to yourself on your Google account and never delete it also gives you access to your documents from any computer in the world. Also, you do not need to perform all these bulky map. If plans change and you take another airline or staying at another hotel, you have privliges and points you deserve. If you have a camera phone, keep a copy of all these information in your phone as well.

Air Travel Tip # 4-faster immigration, move to line (cue) next to the Group special flight crew. If there is anyone at immigration reception, when the flight crew did not come through immigration, wave many times, there is the, in the next person from the nearest line. This can make the line closest to the Customs line move twice as fast as other lines.

The above air travel tips can make your travel less travail.

    Hawaii travel tips and secrets

  • Thursday, February 24, 2011
  • Wtmm

  • Check out these Hawaii travel tips and see if you get too excited, as we did.

Are you a little adventurous? You enjoy a bargain when it comes to travel?

This is how we travel, and it has always worked out great for us. Try it at your own risk, but if you love travel deals, you'll love the way this works.

We like to travel in the off season and now Hawaii, when it is not so crowded. Off season travel has its advantages and disadvantages.

The weather is not always the most ideal, yet, it can be every bit as good as the high season.

We have been in the high season and had bad weather and we have raised in the off season and had great weather, it is always a crap shoot any way so we take the chance.

Normally we get awesome air travel rates in the off season to start of the trip.

We normally only book first night or perhaps other and then we hit the streets and hotel lobbies are looking for your brochures, newspapers and coupon guide books.

The last time we did this, it was in January, right after the new year and all were dead.

Hawaii was like a ghost town, and we have been able to find some of the most incredible deals you could imagine.

We got a flight to Oahu, with a three night stay at a luxury hotel, complete with a rental car for just a bit more than the normal price Island flight.

A second time, on the island of Maui, we called a hotel on Oahu and asked for the price of a suite, we had stayed in on a previous trip.

For the price of a normal Room we were given a 2 bedroom penthouse suite with views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head facing. This was a corner room with four 10 foot glass sliding doors, so it was like glass walls and you could see everything. It had every amenity and our children went almost nuts use Jacuzzi tub, make meals in the kitchen and sitting on two verandas with view to the beach. There was a special elevator, which only went from the lobby level to the 10th floor.

These are just some of the travel tips Hawaii, which we have accumulated. We think you might traveling by the seat of your pants, as we do. It gives us braging rights with relatives also.

The next time you visit Hawaii, throw caution to the wind and give it a try. I would bet it will be the most exciting and value-packed vacation you've ever seen.

Four Travel Tips For this holiday season

  • Friday, February 11, 2011
  • Wtmm

  • Most of these tips would appear as a joint as brush teeth on list of priories, but for others, it might come handy when organizing their travel plans. So if you are not really to travel and explore the world, but you are not with the great task of asking themselves, what is important, and what is not here are some ideas.

A week to package. One of the best, travel tips, we have had is to give you a week to package. Bring out baggage, open them on the floor or bed or wherever suits you and start dumping stuff in You want to drag. things out, put things in (so on and so on) for some time over downloads. At the end of the week, when the trip draws closer, you will have a much better idea of what you want and don't want to bring along for your business trip.

Pack light, you will be BUYING stuff. An inexperienced traveler will bring so many clothes as possible for their trip, because they are primarily fear that they will walk around half naked halfway through the trip. Do not be concerned! You need. You can see, in most parts of the world, they have shopping malls and shops where they sell seasonally appropriate elements and. As a seasoned traveler can tell them what not stink in the trip, can be worn again and again ... and again .... If you can bear.

Put your personal documents in one pocket. Most of us get really paranoid about where we put our travel documents ...I will be very surprised if you do not. But if you're like the rest of us paranoid people, then appointed one room in your bag or one pocket of your jacket for all travel documents. No matter where you go, and what you do with these documents, they always go back to the same pocket. This way you are not left in a frantic mood when you can't remember where you last located them.

Forget the dictionary, learn some sign language. Honestly speaking-a dictionary ever benefit any hardly any. What you need is the ability to smile and laugh at yourself, when you can't find your way and a talent in raised. If you can, pick some simple words on the Internet, before your turn comes.

    Three cheap travel tips

  • Thursday, February 10, 2011
  • Wtmm

  • Cheap travel means you'll go more often, go on longer tours, or just save some of your money for other things. Fortunately, this means low quality travel. If you find a way to get a cheaper air ticket, for example, you may fly at the same level as with the more expensive tickets.

Of course, sometimes you can save money by traveling in a different way, and it is also okay. Why pay the extra $ 40 for a hotel, if you like the idea of staying in a hostel with visitors from all over the world? Why rent a car in countries where good bus and train systems make cheaper and more interesting trips?

You can mainly cheap travel in two ways. First, you can find cheaper ways to get the same thing. Other, perhaps more powerful way is to change your expectations and plans to create a more interesting trip, which also is cheap. Tips, follow will help you do both.

    1. See If you can book two flights cheaper than one.

My wife and I am thinking go to Ecuador this year (2007). Check for our approximate dates, I found that it would cost $ 950 each round trip from Colorado Springs or $ 1.900 total. Then checked in from Colorado Springs to Miami. It would be $ 215 round trip. From Miami to Guayaquil Ecuador costs $ 350 round trip. It makes it only $ 565 to Ecuador or $ 1,130 total-a savings of $ 770.

If you want to do this, you naturally find flights that have enough lag time them. you get probably e refund if you overlook the other flight because of a delay on the first. In our case, we have friends near Miami, so we just get arrange flights to be a day or two from each other and go visit. Even after the cost of renting a car in a few days we will still be hundreds of dollars ahead.

    2. living in a new place for a while.

One way to do a less rushed, vacation is cheaper and in many ways more interesting, to stop going from hotel to hotel. Why not hire stay in a place, and even a condo or apartment? We did this for a couple of years back in Tucson, Arizona. It was nice to escape winter for a few months, and it was fun to explore and get to know a new city. Often you can save hundreds of dollars this way versus pay at night in hotel rooms.

    3. Be an opportunist traveler.

This is the most valuable of these cheap travel tips. There are so many things to do out there and so many places to see, so why get stuck on just the ones you've already thought of? With a little luck you can find a more interesting place to go for half price. With a little shopping, you can find a bed and breakfast in whatever country you are visiting, and pay less for a more interesting experience.

First look for all the possible alternatives that are less expensive. This is not about something you don't want to do. But among these cheaper choice may be a perfect trip for you. Why not find out? You can start with live any of your friends in interesting places? Visit the friends is a great way to save on travel expenses and have a load for fun (with the right friends).

Here is a good example is an opportunist. We were in the mountain resort city of Banos, Ecuador, and asked about the cost of the taxi ride to some waterfall. It was $ 15. It was apparently a popular attraction with tourists. We kept that in mind, as we came around. Then we saw a chiva (an Open-sided bus with seating on the roof) go by the playback of music. We asked.

Chiva took us on a tour of the city (I Red on the tag), then up in the mountains for a view of the city from above. We watched then volcano Tungurahua erupt and spit out a little lava. They served us hot Rum drinks (included in the price), and there was fire-juggling world-class entertainers. Passengers had to push to get it started chiva for the trip back to the city. Costs of all this? $ 3 each. Cheap travel means not uninteresting travel.

You find more quickly Earn frequent flyer miles, if you make the most of your flying with only one airline.

Another tip is to get a credit card with an airline rewards program. It is often surprising how many credit cards can be used to earn points good for airline tickets. Still give other map points, that can be used to purchase products.

No matter what you do, don't let these miles, go to waste. If you cannot use them yourself, allow some programs you to transfer miles to a family member or a friend. The rules vary for different airlines, so you must check with your specific airline, but sometimes you can also cash in miles to buy a ticket in someone else's name. This would be something you could do If your miles get ready to expire, but you have no plans to travel at this time.

Not just assume that your miles have been credited. Make sure that you verify your account in order to ensure your miles are there when you return from your flight. If you wait a long, it may be too late to get credit.

Keep in mind that only a specific number of seats on particular flights is devoted to the people of redemption of frequent flyer miles. Remember this when booking.

Upgrades are often the best use of your frequent flyer miles.

If you find a fantastic super cheap airfare price, can you better off just go ahead and pay in cash rather than by using your accrued miles. Save them for a more expensive flight or a premium or business-upgrade.

Using these airline travel tips, you can be sure to put your frequent flyer miles for better use.

    Travel tips-go Shopping

  • Tuesday, February 1, 2011
  • Wtmm

  • Shopping is an integral part of the travel expenses. When you go travelling, are you tempted to buy a few goodies. Purchase small items like purses or a small craft is ok. But, if you plan to purchase bulky goods, a plan to transport them back to your home. Here are some travel tips for going on a shopping spree during vacations.

    Shopping, before proceeding on travel

Before you continue on a trip, make a list of items you must include toiletries., clothes, bag and baggage, non-prescribed medicines, any cards and books. Make sure all things are as light and small as possible.

    Shopping for your holiday destination

    1. While buying a craft or other things, ensure it is unique and not you will get the same in your city craft stores. If the item is available in a nearby business, there is no need to buy it, unless it is available in the down to Earth rates.

    2. For items, bulky waste, we suggest you shop items and ask the merchant ships for identifying agricultural parcels to you. While the buyer confirm the items, if they have a facility for parcel identification from the counter itself. Analyze also, if it will be cost-effective to buy a product and get the parceled to your home. The international shipping charges are often too high. So compare the price of your purchase and shipping costs with the cost of an item in the local store.

    3. Always buy items via your credit card. The advantage of purchase through a credit card is that you have a proof of purchase, and if the merchant does not deliver the goods in time or in perfect shape, you can dispute the charge. Consult your credit card customer service on the procedure for dispute settlement.

    4. make purchases in the last phase of your vacation. It has two advantages. One, you know the money back with you and may decide the budget for your purchase. Two, you do not need everywhere you go carrying this extra piece of luggage with you. Remember, the important thing is to enjoy the holidays and not buy items. Most items are available in the us for a reasonable price during the off-season.

    5. Travel tips for temporary shopping: some topics, you can use and throw away. There are many things that are not in fashion in the us. But if you are fascinated with them, buy, use and share away during the holidays. Elements like stones, jewellery, straw hats, t-shirts, local dress falls into this category. They can be attractive for a while, but has no use for a long time.
